Attn Doorstop: Your 'Burnistoun' pic: is that St Margarets Church in the background?
For the second time in recent months, a detail in photo I've seen on this site has given me a strange feeling of deja vu and transported me back in time.

Not being a frequenter of a religious establishment of any description since primary school I have to say I'm not sure .. I think it may well be though.

It's definitely one of the three churches at Knightswood cross .. the one directly over Knightswood road from St Ninians.
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

You think they would have checked to see who was in first.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

i remember back in the seventies there was a promotion for outspan oranges (anyone remember the outspan cars shaped like an orange based on a mini i think) it was outside st enoch subway and tom alexander (the accordianist) was there and asked him for his autograph for my granny but refused to do so because i didnt have a pen on me.
I live in cupar fife and in 1998 met andy gray (chancer in city lights) he was standing having a ciggie beside his car we chatted about city lights as i asked him if he was chancer from city lights and he said yer thats me pal i think he was in a play at the adam smith theatre in klrkcaldy at the time

In no particular order:

Graham Linehan in Mono

Gerard Butler in Amber Regent then Cineworld

Most recent - Bernard Ponsonby in Slaters

- "Shellsuit" Bob in The Maltman
- Jim Davidson in Cineworld ( I am no fan of the man or his politics but he was laughing and joking with the staff and customers and was with a kid, so maybe he's changed?)
- Glen Michael in Frazer's in the 1980s
Rik Mayall in Queen Street Stn
Forbes Masson in Waterstone's - asked him if he still keeps in touch with Alan Cumming and he said (don't know how facetiously) "We're never off the phone to each other!"

Greg Hemphill is at nearly every gig, panto and play I attend - he'd everywhere (and VERY down to Earth!)

Billy Connolly - as with everyone who has met him more than once, it depends what day you get him whether he'll be nice as ninepence or swearingly objectionable. Usual rule of thumb - in a pub (though he don't drink) he's like an auld fun guy. On his own in a cafe? Avoid.
