TEAMSANO

el D is as white as bucky is red.

are they both not just brown?

LD came in two varieties: Rich White and Old Tawny.

Both however were the same colour.

Although you never saw the colour since you drank it by the neck anyway.

Happy days.

Not to mention that it is now established that there is a relationship between high caffiene alcahol drinks and aggressive behavior, cue an increase in sales of red bull and vodka!!

Thought the attitude of the head of Chandlers was never going to win him any friends, very defensive and intransigent, he said that he drinks it himself, wonder if he had partaken of one or two before the interview.

the thing about buckfast si that in england it is seen as a rather posh drink as opposed to the ned-fuel in scotland

that geezer from chandlers was clearly "oan the wine" his attitude stank almost as bad as his product. putting it in plastic boatils would stoap some of the violence. but neds will be neds

They only touched on it, but I got the impression that by using a couple of carefully structured companies they managed to avoid paying any tax on profits. Was I right in that interpretation? If so not only is it responsible for filling up our A&E departments the company does not pay any tax to help fund them!

The only way the "monks" will change their ways, is if some of our religious leaders put a bit of public pressure on them and shame them into taking some responsibility for their product.

If Buckfast wasn't sold then " neds " would simply find something else to drink. To blame Scotlands problems on Buckfast is just ridiculous.

Also a favourite of geriatrics, it's a "tonic" wine. They also partake of Sanatogen tonic wine.

Mind you, in some parts of Glasgow, being drunk is a blessing.

Buckfast is nothing......makes you cheery
Consider that years ago there were things being drunk 'openly' that would quickly blow your heid aff.....
Some of the cheap 'red biddy' on sale would have challenged even the most 'educated palette', and shops like LIDL when they first opened openly sold 'Vodka' that many of my friends almost killed themselves on.....Buckfast is nothing in comparison with most of the 'Electric Soup' and Super strength Ciders that most of your 'neds' get 'loaded-up' with.....BEFORE POSING WITH A BOTTLE OF BUCKFAST...
Super tax it.....and what do you get....?.....yet another generation learning to drink 'Eldorado, Lanliq and Old England'
Problem not going away by banning Buckfast...! ::):

Certain amount of truth in the last post, when I lived in Moodiesburn I remember going to the local spar about 8pm on a Friday Night, I was surprised at the queue at the counter and was amazed that every one was ordering the same thing, a bottle of Buckfast and one can of Super Lager or White Lightning Cider, it would seem that the wine alone was not enough, a little chaser was required.

Taken today. The remains of a Friday night Buckiefest in Coatbridge. Must be a shortage of big bottles - that is a crisis.
