Another urban myth enters the books.

In a few years this will have grown from a low speed recce, up through buzzing, passing through fast, and ending up at supersonic with tales of the first sonic boom over Glasgow :wink:

Just been at the VJ day celebration in George Square and 4 of those huge jets flew over really low, slow and loud... was pretty amazing!!

Anwyay, I thought I'd get back on here and explain to everyone... but JayKay beat me to it! :wink:

Just found an old news article referring to a 4 Tornado flypast over Stirling Castle in May 2002 (43 Squadron, based at Leuchars, was formed in Stirling in 1916) to mark Stirling's arrival as Scotland's newest city.

Pity it doesn't record if there was as much whining beforehand as there seems to have been in Glasgow.

There was the fly-past too for the opening of the Scottish parliament. Was that not the red arrows and concorde?

Yep... I remember watching it on TV, and then a few minutes later, they were flying over my house in Thornwood! Very strange seeing Concorde that close!

Anyone else see the two Tornado's at about 2.15p.m. today that went screaming across the city from South to North at about 1000 feet?
