My mate Dave has been in Taggart twice (once as a glorified extra, once with a speaking part). Hes also been in Complicity and Still Game.

Nowadays he does a lot of the fight arranging for Taggart and River City.

Go look at his website: http://www.fightdirector.com

No Taggart I'm afraid... But worked with some of the crew.

Have worked as 'video assist' on many commercials and some shows.

Extras are treated like sheep, I know, as I've had to herd them!.

Working on a crew, you sometimes get asked to be an extra (no extra money, cheapskates)

Can be seen in: 'The Little Vampire', 'Murder Rooms' (Sherlock Holmes), Domestic Abuse Commercial (The B&W one with the song 'Behind Closed Doors'), A Polish commercial for a 'Scottish' themed beer called 'Tyskie', featuring a shameless James Cosmo & Ian Robertson.......

At a table in a nightclub (tin shed in Dalmarnock) as Kelly McDonald walks past in 'Strictly Sinatra'. Probably biggest claim to fame is starring as dying soldier in Playstation commercial for Japanese game called 'Valkyrie'. (Sadly only seen in Japan, apart from my copy)Interestingly, wearing a costume from 'Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves' and being filmed by 'Eduardo Serra', who went on to shoot 'Unbreakable' & ' The Girl With A Pearl Earing'. Sounds exiting eh?, NOT. He was a nice old French bloke though!.

G.

Beware of 'professional extras' though, bawbags......

Taggart

Postby cataclyzm » Mon Mar 15, 2004 12:15 am

Haven't the recent story lines become a little fractured? I always thought that Taggart was unbearabely tense for all the wrong reasons. That poor man's face always seemed so frought with pain and anguish. It turns out that
it wasn't so far from the truth.
In a city were human kindness seems to be going in short supply, and where the past is very much disconnected from the present, perhaps the greatest
crimes are the ones that were commited from the city chambers. Sadly, no one was ever brought to justice, and probably never will be. Let's call it a drive by fatality inflicted on a once compassionate and wonderful place, with still a few vestiges of humanity sprinkled here and there.
In short...yeh, it's all good and I'll have a big mac...the same as you guyzzzz!

Me me me!! I was in Taggart years ago when they filmed at my school. It was the one where the two wee hairys murdered the old woman and then one of them threatend to jump off the roof of a Glasgow theatre. Can't remember which one. Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

I was also on the Girlie Show in the toilet talk bit

Played the small but crucial part of "man on beach with dog" in Ewan McGragor's Young Adam.

Would have preferred a part in one of his Star Wars films but musnt't grumble...earned £60 for me, and another £20 for my dog!

Not Taggart, but I was on Glen Michaels Cavalcade as a child... Later in my TV career, I was an extra which involved walking along a balcony. Joy.

Was in the very first episode of Taggart (guy with the crossbow methinks).

I was one of 2 kids in Glasgow to be picked for a fledgling Sky programe called Kids Court, down in London.

Was on Scotland Today singing "I am the music man" in the City Chambers, for the Anderston Festival.

My right leg and my elbow appeared in an advert for Telford College in Edinburgh about ten years ago.

I would have been in it more, but they filmed the more attractive people instead....

there's a rumour I appeared in the first three series of "Blake's Seven" as "Man with laser rifle".

It's not true.
Too few hours in the day.
