Gilshie = Gilshochill
Cumbie = Cumberland Road
Posso = Possil

What other alternative names are there for places in Glasgow. Is there scope for a Glaswegian map of Glasgow?

Border: Parkhead
Gyto: Garthamlock
The Bowrie: Barrhead (I think)
The Bundy: Pollok (I think... the last 2 might be mixed up)

A map like this already exists btw

I was aware of the gangs location map - I think there was an ice-cream gang which was based in Rottenrow before they tore down the slums to make way for strathclyde uni.

That specifically refers to 'BowerWall Street', Barrhead - the worst street in the universe.

It's been flattened now.

I used to have the pleasure of living on the border or tongs and shamrock and had the joys of wiping of their 'menchies' nearly on a nightly occurance.

Baltic Fleet - Dalmarnock, Probably from Baltic street

Used to see it everywhere, my Aunt lived in Baltic St in the 70's

Brigton and Ruglen. Has anyone ever heard of the area round about Kingsacre Rd and Montford Avenue between Kings Park and Toryglen being referred to as 'Monkeyland'. I remember that from my childhood in Toryglen.
