Millie the Dinosaur

Postby martin » Fri May 13, 2005 4:00 pm

Glasgow University's pet dinosaur (no, not the principal) has been sitting around, minding her own business outside the Gilbert Scott building for nearly five years now.

I found out today that she's due to be removed on Tuesday.

There's a petition to save her at http://www.petitiononline.com/millie, and hopefully she's still paying her union fees...

That means there will be a traffic cone on the loose. 8O (unless Millie takes it with her)

Where are they moving it to? Or are they just removing it? It would look great in amongst the trees in the square in front of my house!

Funny, I'm sure I heard that they were going to replace her tail with a metal one recently.

I'd vote to save Millie if people stopped snapping bits off her.

I'd imagine that's why they are moving her.

That is annoying - last I heard they'd finally admitted they were going to keep her (hence the strengthened tail, etc) permanently.

Bugger!

If true, I must go along on Tuesday and record this sad occaison...

how on earth would we get it moved though? And where would we put it? It's pretty big.

I've got 4 people here that are up for liberating her...

Well, much as it would be funny to see her strapped to the roof of a car... I suppose she'd have to be chopped up a bit and put back together later?

I'm no dinosaur butcher though!

Apparently it took a low loader to get her here:
