Put this in the Transport Museum thread and felt it belonged here too as it features a few items of the Lyceum. :)

Excellent. Was Kia-Ora ever advertised outside of a cinema? Like those Pearl and Dean adverts it only reminds me of going to the cinema as a kid.

i went to the abc cinema in kirkcaldy on a regular basis for about 20 years and two ads which were always shown were butterkist pop corn "BUTTERKIST BUTTERKIST RA RA RA" FOLLOWED BY THE WORDING ON SALE IN THE FOYER NOW
and also with voiceover"westlers hotdogs on sale in the foyer now" they also showed the cigarettes available at the kiosk and recall some wag shouting why are you selling fags when this is a no smoking cinema
happy days bloody shame it was closed by odeon who took over the abc chain(which had previously been canon mgm virgin then abc) odeon said it was due to lack of customers which believe it or not was because odeon had opened a multiplex in dunfermline so everyone went there because it was a new cinema resulting in a drop in attendances at the abc when odeon sold the cinema a covenant was put in that it couldnt be reopened as a cinema and is now still boarded up and unused very sad

that projection room clock is very like the ones that used to be above the pay kiosk at the abc in kirkcaldy one clock showed the current time and the other the time you would come out at
this was of course in the days of continous performances when cinemas were cinemas and changeovers were done manually by two projectionists
