I'd love to get back on one if given the chance. There was a woman round my way when I was wee called 'Mental Lentil' she was on all the time and had some set-up. Anyone remember her? Cardonald?

btw, what does 'an eyeball' mean again...sounds so familiar.

'Side'

'Side'

'Side come in' ::): love it.

Yep, her name was May. She used to let everyone and anyone
into her house. Had some great times there 8O . She used to
stay up the Moss Heights then moved to Queensland Dr.

Eyeball means a meeting which you would usually do after
chatting to someone for a while and getting to know them
a bit, either one to one or in a crowd. Just like the HG
nights out I guess.

Sorry big/davie just saw your last post

8O

God. That's the woman.

She was a nice person.

Canny believe you know of her.

She had a fuck-off silver rod on her roof if I can remember.

I'm listening to the CB on my HF rig right now. The band's wide open. Stations coming in from strongly across Europe.

Just found this thread!!

Woo hoo........... I used to CB in the early 80's, so much fun.

"Breaker breaker

Renegade, Silver Bullet, Skywalker, Mad Max, Trouble,

........do you copy? Kick it on back!!"

Would meet up at the Botantic Gardens after hanging out at Park Circus and be there to all hours of the morning.

I went to a CB fundraiser fancy dress disco in the Ingram Hotel, would've been about 1981/82 where everyone came dressed as their handle.
Brilliant night and some fantastic outfits Big Baby and Space Cadet stand out in my mind.

This is the Heartbreaker signing off Good buddy, 10. 10.

this post is like an Oldfarts convention from the past :D

way back in distant past i did have CB radio or 2 starting from old AM. I mostly spoke to truckers and Goldfinger (CB Shack - Glasgow 1st CB radio shop) then novelty wore off for a while. Less than a year later it was BIG so a return. I was the original one & only Warrior fae P/shaws. I had various arial but i had silver rod, Sigma 4 etc mounted on a scaffolding pole at Pollokshaws round about. I seem to remember Itallian Stallion but i'm getting auld now.

ps I also meet the wife from CB or should i say ex she was Blue Eyes from Penilee

Wow nice bump, I had not seen this thread.

My handle was Garlic Sausage, it was not sinister I was burning only 6 candles at the time.

My Dad used to have them in his works vans useful before the days of mobile phones. I think it was a Eurosonic one we had in the house. I will have to dig it out and see if it still works.

I was 'The Big Mamma' and boy it was a lot of fun. We got up to some tricks with the microphone.
Yes, CB days sure brings back memories.

Does anybody remember that auld alchy guy I think his name wiz Joe who stayed up the high flats jist at the Forge retail park who always played music on the breaking channel.

I wonder if he's still alive coz a lot of the guys were after him in the day.

Also does anyone remember the names of the gang of auld boys from Haghill who stayed on I think it was either channel 7 or 8 all day every day for hours one of them was about 70 and was blind.

Gleniffer's been poor for a long while now. Reports of underagers amongst the dope heads and boy racers. Best avoided.

"On the side, one the side, on the side"

Oh how I used to love hearing - "Come in on the side"

Handle called "Sunny Boy"

Mind my sister agreed to meet some guys who were out driving around - bet they were dissapointed when it turned out she was 13 and my old man was with her!
