I believe the council are acting illegally - it's not a question of right to roam legislation but the fact that the lane has been a public right of way for centuries. It doesn't matter who owns the lane, the fact is that the right of way exists. I'm sure if challenged legally the council would have to remove the obstruction!

I was listening to Pick of the Pops this afternoon and a Jim Reeves track reminded me so much of Paddy's. I used to go there fairly often of a lunch time, and vintage country music was a constant in the arches

This isn't the best country track , but it gives you an impression.
