Try here for some photos of it after closure and some info about the area. I've posted some pics on the site of Easterhill St in the 1950s.

Wow you wait 4 years for a reply and 3 come along at once :D

Dry Boak; Thanks mate, I have seen this, I think it was only posted recently, it is still the only photo I have seen of the station open. (one day I need to spend some time at the Mitchell looking for more of these)

Dimairt; I have been on your site several times, I love those pictures they remind me of how it was when I went there. Do you have any more, I would love to see them

Caltonboy; I used to play there too perhaps you threw stones at me too ::):

I know it closed around Aug/ Oct 1964 I used to play in the Station itself and then the entrance became a "scrappies" If you remember the Caravans at the corner of Corbett St we might know each other.
Try Googling Glasgow East and follow the link to Tony Jaconelli there you will find the Picture you are lookig for . I only have pics of the bridge at my sisters wedding.

Was the munitions place not at the old sand pits? I can remember going to school with a gas mask on ma heid and getting two of the belt off Mr Berman at Tollcross Primary . We used to swim there too before they filled it in.
We also had a freind drown there too (John Bell) that I think is the reason they filled them in. 8O

There is a repository of Railway Accident Reports at http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/, if you could narrow the search down to where the accident happened you might get a result.
