So it looks like Glasgow can be divided in to the following zones

Ladies of the night
Ladies of the day
Rent boys
Whey hey zone (no money changes hands)
Dogging Areas
Cruising zones
Gay beach - it is still there?
Lucky or whey hey zone - the Tunnel VIP lounge etc
Desperate zone - Clatties
Net curtain zone - the rest of Glasgow

ive done it in kelvingrove park (with a girl!), on a train, in the shack nightclub, in an empty building on west regent street, by the clyde at the secc. cant remember any more!
my girlfriend lives on bothwell street, i go up there 3 or 4 times a week, and always politely refuse the hoor du jour.she still doesnt recognize me, and even asked my girl once!
there used to be a porn cinema in divallys eh(now legs n co)? can anyone remember? i went to see my mates band play a gig there about 7 years ago. i was underage anyway, and the constant stream of shady old men was a bit confusing.the girl who danced on the bar when the band had a break made it all clear to me!

used to go past the wee dodgy cinema (cant remember the name but I know there are cinema experts here who will) in Jamaica Street every day when going to work (in 1990) It must have been one of the last porno cinemas around, closed in about '92 I think.

It became part of the ABC chain, and a friend who worked for a different branch of the ABC Chain reported that it regularly still took in more money than the ABC in the southside.

there was also the Curzon at the top of Sauchihall Street that was basically a porno cinema that occasionally put on Sci Fi or Horror movies as well.

The Classic Grand.

Wasn't always dodgy. I've no idea when it was now, but when it opened (re-opened?) one of the first films it showed was 2001, and that was the only time I got to see the film version.

As noted, in its latter years, its showings changed, as did its local name, to the Classic Gland.

Recently had a frolic in the Millenium Hotel on George Square, would recommend it to anyone. A roll in the hay and every now and going to take in the the view. I honestly never thought I would see George Square in the buff.

I don't think the hotel itself is up to much, bit pricey for the standard of room, but worth it for the new perspective of the city chambers.

Image

It opened as the Grand Central in 1915 (seating 750), partial conversion of a warehouse! Closed in 1966; reopened as Classic in 1973, seating 365. Renamed Cannon Grand 1985; closed May 1992.

There's a shot of it on the Virtual Mitchell in 1930 here:

there was also the Curzon at the top of Sauchihall Street that was basically a porno cinema that occasionally put on Sci Fi or Horror movies as well.

The Vitagraph opened 1912 seating 625, using rear projection. The building was originally a monumental masons, hence the statue work on the facade!
Renamed Kings in 1914. Renamed Newscine - Glasgow's only dedicated newsreel cinema in 1954. Renamed Newcine from 1955, then Curzon from 1960. Renamed Classic, 1964. Closed 1984 as the Tatler Cinema Club.

Thanks nodrog, though you would be da man for the info. Strangely I remember the Vitagraph as the Curzon, although obviously it stopped being called this in the mid 60s, before my time. I dont remember it being the Tatler at all, but then I guess I wasnt exactly a regular.
