Great stuff Dave - apart from the bit about the 'tanks in the streets' in the cattle market video. Tthat picture of a tank in the Trongate is actually from a war fund-raising effort in 1918, as conclusively shown in
this blog post by Gordon Barclay. There were no tanks involved in 'the 'battle of George Square' - they arrived 4 days after the event and never left the cattle market.
Gordon has also debunked
several other myths surrounding the event, such as 'the government sent in the army'.
At least you didn't mention Churchill!
