In the Sextus section of the Necropolis, there is a headstone with the message 'In affectionate remembrance of Comrade Sis Mrs Mary Allan died 25 September 1934. From the Anderston Home League.' Does anyone have any idea what the Anderston Home League was?

Until 40 years ago there was a Salvation Army corps (branch) at Anderston,
just past the Cross on the right hand side of Argyle street going towards the Kelvin Hall.
Salvation Army women's groups were called "The Home League" and still
are in more than 100 countries around the world.

There's still a Salvation Army outpost next to Anderston Kelvingrove church. It's a waste ground at the moment but building work commences Monday 1st Sept.
I hear the people sing.
