I gave up being a mod precisely so I could say that sort of thing, and then a mod goes and says it for me.

What is needed is more ranges where kids can be taught that competative target shooting under controlled, safe conditions can be great fun, and the dangers of uncontrolled rifle use can be explained. Sadly the number of clubs is decreasing, and the people who use rifles irresponsibly will continue to do so, and it will be hard for the police to control.

I wouldn't disagree with that. I think that having lots of folk know how to use guns is not in itself a bad thing.

And probably what I should have said myself.

Like I said the other night Josef, just being arsey lately. :(

That might have worked better had you said it twice.

Actually, it might have worked at all had you said it twice.

Ach ban air rifles. Why not? You can't protect your family or property with one and you can't overthrow a corrupt government with one. They serve no purpose. Sooner I can emigrate to Florida where I can carry a gun and don't have to put up with 15 year olds running the streets with knives the better! Socialist Scotland can burn!

Given the choice, I think I prefer 15 year olds running the streets with knives rather than guns.

Not if your armed yourself and you were a faster draw. Plus 15 year olds wouldn't be allowed to carry legally. You would. Definitely better than being defenseless that's for sure. God I hate that commie Alex Salmond.

Miami's that kind of town and there's probably not many good reasons to visit, unless in pursuit of vice (of the Miami Vice sort).

At least they've stopped nailing 'tourist, please mug' on the back of hire cars but the fact visitors still wander about with all their worldly goods hanging around their necks doesn't help.
