Fekkin brilliant. A new public holiday.
THE MASTER OF THE CARAVAN :
But who are ye in rags and rotten shoes,
You dirty-bearded, blocking up the way?

THE PILGRIMS :
We are the Pilgrims, master; we shall go
Always a little further:

A lantern extinguished,
So a Nation mourns?
Nay; this world weeps,
Through benighted rights and representation,
Farewell to an Iron Lady,
Our steel willed Palladin

Cleggy you snickering floppy eared hound when courage is needed, you're ne'er around.
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest should be there for bungling at which you are best.

Typical of her to do it on a bloody Monday. There'll be a few sair heads tomorrow though.
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

Glasgow City Council have just tweeted they are sending out more gritters to deal with the cold conditions underfoot tonight. Now that Maggie has probably closed down at least three of Hell's furnaces by now, they'll need to send out a few more I reckon. ::): ::): ::):

I only found out today that Dennis Thatcher had been married twice.
Both wives were called Margaret and first marriage ended in 1940s.
He married for second time in 1951 and think he died around ten years ago. You learn something every day.

Hmmmmm...

GCC

Council response to social media comments about Baroness Thatcher and George Square
In response to comments on social media sites suggesting people are planning to hold a party in George Square following the death of Baroness Thatcher, Glasgow City Council has issued the following statement.
Regardless of whether or not it's appropriate to have a party to celebrate someone dying, this event was organised without involvement or consent from the council and we have safety concerns for anyone attending.
Organisers of legitimate events must get permission to use the square. They must also satisfy the council that they will take safety precautions such as providing first aiders, sufficient public toilets and stewards, as well as obtaining public liability insurance.

We urge people to stay away.

Good grief even the council puts its tongue firmly in its cheek regarding celebrating a person's demise.

Sorry to sound like a complete old fart but I just think celebrating a person's death is pretty bloody tasteless.

The "look what she did to us/the country/people who died for her vanity etc:" does not make the behavior any more excusable.

Feel free to have a pop at me, its just how I feel about it.

But had Thatcher had her way, you wouldn't have been allowed to grow into an old fart. Infact, she may have tried to privatise farting.
