No-Go Areas in Glasgow. Serious ones.

Postby bAzTNM » Mon Jul 02, 2012 5:35 pm

Yeah, so I took the cycle up to the Forth & Clyde Canal Walkway at Possil at the weekend.

Get to Lambhill Bridge and spot about ten junkies underneath it. One guy sitting on the ground, belt around his thigh, sticking a needle in there. Nasty stuff.

This isn't the first time stuff like that has happened around that particular area of Possil. I'd seriously now stay away from that part of the walkway if you have not got a bike, or can't run fast.

What are some of the places you SERIOUSLY consider no-go areas in Glasgow, Scotland?

Thanks a lot.

It depends on the time of day.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

I was at the Lambhill Stables on Friday approx 11am - no sign of any neds/junkies.
Full marks to the landscaping around the stables allough I won't be participating in a moonlight walk (if anyone's asking) 8O

Its amazing where individuals will inject.
Working at GRI one and came across a guy in one of the stair wells of the QEB shooting up.
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

Not so sure about that for the Young Teams though. The various 'gangs' round and about take their "turf" very seriously, if you happen to be (or are suspected of being) from a different gang.

As an older person (50!) I wouldn't expect to get the same sort of hassle. Mind, I still wouldn't want to hang about some bits of the City Centre on a Saturday night!

Being old is simply a state of mind, you are as young or old as you feel... speaking of which I,m away to the GRI to enquire after some (ahem) personal care.
