Nice one Robert, pass on my thanks to David! Nice one of Pinkston in set 2, does David have any other pictures of Glasgow’s Power Stations? If he does I would love to see them.

David Holgate would like me to pass on his thanks to all those who have viewed his photos on my Flickr account. Collections 3 and 4 have had 7000 views since they were put up on Saturday; a fantastic response, thank you all.

Cheers Robert, I dropped you a pm.

Intrigued by that electric loco in Pinkston, not sure what it would have been used for and I can’t orientate the picture, my best guess would be easterly corner of the station where I think there were coal unloading apparatus, accessed from the St Rollox Coal and Mineral depot.

Thanks Robert.

Some nice old Leyland Titans on there. I remember them with affection. They were great buses to drive.

I'm intrigued by image 6 in that set http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertpool ... 1138365240

It's titled 1115 at Sandyford Toll. Now preserved at Crich. I've never heard of Sandyford Toll and it doesn't get a mention on HG.

The tenement in the background looks like the stretch of Argyle St west of The Goat. Anyone know?

yes your right, the tram is heading to the junction of Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street at the Art Galleries (if you look very closely you will just see part of the Art Galleries in the extream left of the photo just behind the front end of a red car). The buildings in the photo have all been demolished and new flats were built there around 1990. Sandyford Toll may have been a local name as there was a Sandyford Lane (facing Kelvinhaugh Street) which ran between Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street. The junction at Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street may well have been a 'Toll' at some point in the past.

Thanks again to Mr. Holgate and Robert for the latest instalment, I thought the pics of the Ca D'ora fire were particularly good. Are there more to come Robert and are there any of the Garscube Rd?
