Empty Streets in Glasgow, Scotland

Postby bAzTNM » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:56 pm

Hi! Basically what streets are always quiet in Glasgow, Scotland. Absolutely nobody about. No traffic. Just old buildings.

Are there any places like that? Thanks!

Broad Street in Bridgeton is never all that busy, particularly at weekends. It was one of the main thoroughfares in the predominantly industrial Mile End, and has some interesting stuff. I led a wee heritage walk round the area recently, and there still remains a few historical gems.

Spent the first three years of my life there. Haven't been back since despite living for over 40 years in the east end.

Oh, next time you lead a walk, could you let us know? There are several buildings on Broad Street that I am curious about.

Thanks :D

Hi Monument,

I'd be happy to do the Mile End walk if anyone is interested. How would Saturday 14th July suit, meet outside the Olympia at Bridgeton Cross at 10.00. It would last around an hour an a half.
