Sadly, I have to report that The Trees has undergone deforestation and is no more.

As previously established, most McDonalds and most Burger Kings have free wi-fi.
But I've noticed that KFC are getting in on the act as well.

I'm pretty sure there's a couple of free hotspots in the Buchanan Galleries.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

I was able to get online via The Cloud in Central Station earlier tonight.

My gripe with WiFi and free hotspots is trying to get it to work. After 10 minutes of frustrating tap tap tapping on my smartphone trying to fill in a ruddy form to register to use it before it will let you actually on, it's time to move on somewhere else. Just to refresh my Twitter feed.

Was staying in the big Hilton not that long ago and couldn't get within the range of the Cloud at all - if I came out the hotel and walked a little bit along Waterloo Street I could pick up umpteen hotspots, but what flaming use is that?? Hilton's hideously overpriced in-room WiFi is £15 a day (ouch!)

More often than not I just use my inclusive data allowance (you get 3G in most places within the centre of town anyway)....less hassle and better for the blood pressure!

most mobile tariffs have at least 500meg allowance a month now anyway so if your just using it for twitter or facepal youd probably just be better using the 3g to do it.....loads of the free wifi spots are slower than 3g anyway

Are we not supposed to be getting wi-fi on trains?

Not on the Gourock to Glasgow line yet, apparently.
