nuclear attack

Postby reginekierkegaard » Thu Aug 12, 2004 11:15 pm

Where will you hide if an ICBM with a nuclear warhead is due to strike on Glasgow in less than 20 minutes? (after a warning from the government)
Will you go to....
1. Buchanan nuclear bunker (according to some sources)....
2. Drive up, heading toward the high land.....(you may hit a traffic jam)
3. Drive west
4. Hide in a tunnel (it may not be deep enough......and it is certainly not radiation prove......)
Or Do you have a better location?

I don't think West would be the best direction... You'll get further away from the fallout driving East surely?
Am I wrong?

I mean I'm only 25 miles SW of Glasgow and I'm right on the sea!

You are not wrong...driving west would hit all kind of natural obstacles...like the atlantic.

Mind you going east would mean the M8 and thats never good...

Guess you've missed the earlier posts on this subject, however, since the event portrayed would not be isolated, and we now know the reality of the situation would be the effective wipeout of this island for all but a few very ill people (forget the bunkers, you'll have starved long before the fallout's cooled down and you can come out), Sharon and Pgcc93 have the right idea, and I want to know where the Laphroaig and duvet are. Apart from some misguided tree-hugging anti-nuclear do-gooder fouling things up somewhere and making us drop one of ours while attacking (sorry, protesting) at a base, would you like to have a stab (not literal please) at potential sources for said ICBM?

Terrorists may acquire their ICBM from Russia....
What about stealing a V2 from a museum and put a nuclear warhead on it......striking from Europe...........not exactly an ICBM, but it is certainly a BM.....
I think one of the problem with driving east, is that you are approaching Eding. which is yet another valuable target to nuke with a high population density.......

Might as well watch the show I guess...and if you are watching it would be better with company. But I'd still stick to the GOOD whisky!
