Scottish Parliamentary Election

An election will be held for the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 5 May 2011.
If you are eligible to vote, you will receive two ballot papers.
There will be a lilac coloured ballot paper to elect your constituency member and a peach coloured ballot paper to elect your regional members.
Use the lilac ballot paper to vote for a candidate to represent your constituency.
To vote, mark a cross (X) in the box opposite the name of one candidate. The candidate with the most votes wins.
Use the peach ballot paper to vote for a party or independent candidate to represent your region.
To vote, mark a cross (X) in the box opposite the name of one party or individual candidate.
In each region, parties and individual candidates win seats based on:

• the number of votes they receive in this regional ballot, and

• the number of constituency seats that parties win in the region.

I cannot wait to vote!
I feel I have some unfinished business after voting for Lib Dems at the General Election and being totally and completely let down by them in the day, weeks, and months following that fateful day.

Hopefully nobody will vote Lib Dem.
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

As much as I agre with you Mori I still think he does put up a good job against London and has done a reasonably good job in the light of the banking sham etc. I too will be going Green for my second vote.
After speaking to my mother she along with other pensioners will be voting for the Pensioner Party. There is a very large lobby for a similar group in USA and they do get pensioners a good voice .
Thank you. And why not.

Evidence please.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

i think the lib dems are gonna get wiped out.

Hopefully they will get rid of that pointless idiot list MSP Robert Brown, most politicians are annoying at the best of times, but he just seems to wander about on an aimless mission. And he is a hippocrite regarding the shutting down of post offices.
Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bughunt?

That's the important thing.

Glasgow's own Adam McNaughton writing of another Glasgow son, Thomas Muir, reminds us -

When you're called for jury service, when your name is drawn by lot
When you vote in an election when you freely voice your thought
Don't take these things for granted, for dearly were they bought
I hear the people sing.

With apologies to Ronald Reagan...

I have just signed legislation that will outlaw tories forever. We begin bombing as soon as Doorstop hands back the aircraft carriers that he stole last night. :)

If this is true, I'll leave them berthed up at the Broomielaw, clean and polished in half an hour.

S.N.P & S.N.P again.
I'm not particularly a supporter, but I'd never vote Tory anyway, and I'll never again vote Labour or Lib Dem.

That does narrow it down a wee bit (well, maybe not, depending where you're voting for.). Promised myself years ago I'd never vote Tory, not that it's proved a difficult promise to keep.

I'll keep the first vote to myself, but #2 is going for oor Margo Macdonald, who remains the only person I've ever voted for who's actually got in.
