The Fall Of The House Of Purcell. Do not Go OFF TOPIC

Anyone have any scuttlebutt on why Mssr. Purcell has jumped ship?

It looks increasingly suspicious and there's a definite whiff of the tuna can about the whole affair.

We await fat boy's kisser on the front of one of the tabloid rags in due course telling us about his, ahem, "stress".

According to the news tonight he has now been hospitalised, so I assume that he is genuinely ill.

He is nothing but a nasty wee corner boy. Cannot feel any sympathy for him at all. Karma.

Hey all

not been on for a wee while so hi :)

Well i hear a wee rumour today about the apparent Fall of Purcell

Looks like wee Purcell has got his eye on running in the General Election for a wee stint as an MP
but due to the problems associated with the comings and goings at SPT ( Another Expense Scandel )
he has resigned form council leader so he will not be blamed for SPT's actions thats why he has
highered not just a pricy Legal Firm but Mr Purcell has hired the PR firm, Media House,
to represent his interests also.

All i can say is we have to wait and see...

For me that's like seeing Donald Findlay as the Defence Advocate.........it's clear that nothing untoward is going on if such luminaries are involved in looking after Mr Purcell's interests.

Yes i think it is that cocai is apparently the man source of his stress as due to a recent crack down his supply is not as regular as he needed to fulfil his job requirements ...... ::):

Stress is no fun and being put in hospital for it I daresay is fairly serious. Given he was a councillor I'd probably have recommended he stay at home and take help from his family doctor as he is still very exposed in a hospital.

IF the resignation is stress related and requires management by a crack squad of PR and legal folk then I reckon someone somewhere has some fairly hefty evidence of some fairly hefty wrongdoing. It's going to be fun to watch this unravel.

Another wee update on the Fall of Purcell??

I have quoted part of an article published in todays Hearld...

friends of Purcell questioned why he had found it necessary to bring in Media House and leading lawyer Peter Watson to explain why he was suffering from a stress-related illness.

One asked: “If that’s the case, why isn’t the city council’s highly paid director of communications or his political adviser, both highly experienced journalists, dealing with this?”

Purcell’s council advisers and PR team have since been warned by his legal advisers against speaking publicly about the former civic leader’s health. It is understood they have been threatened that doing so will result in legal action against them.

Purcell was advised by his inner circle at the council to resign, as well as answer questions about his personal problems.

Now this is starting to get very interesting indeed...

I am starting to think this illness is just a smoke screen but hey thats just my opinion ...

I hope he isnt useing an illness to cover up mabye the fact he was maybe forced out ?

Worry not, at least now that Saint Jimmy Coleman is in charge we can look forward to the rapid closure of all his favourite obsessions - lap dancing and pole dancing establisments. Never mind the murders, mayhem and Third World conditions in Govanhill and the East End. Coleman's administration will prioritise the terrible danger to the city's morals.

Hail Father Coleman.
