There were loads of Glasgow Labour cooncillors in deep depression at 2.45 on Sunday. Councillor Mowbray is right, its political ::):

Is that the one he is running drugs for a well known glasgow family . Or is it the one where he was actually involved with the McCanns on the abduction of wee Madie. All will be revealed in the latest edition of The Digger. On sale at all reputable book strores.

Wonder if an "English" down market news sheet will break the full story? I suspect the Glasgow papers are just not wanting to get involved. Wonder if any of the Scottish "Sundays" will run with this breaking story. I suspect the Labour party are going all out to try and stop it especially with a general election soon. Its certainly taken the heat off Salmond and Sturgeon ie the "piegate" controversy seems small beer now. Ian Gray to-day sort of gave the game away by his reluctance to get drawn in. Are any Labour politicians going to break ranks? The BBC seems to know more than they are saying. Anyone like to be a fly on the wall at to-nights Scottish Labour Party HQ?

18 year old 'close friend' dies outside City Chambers, Purcell flees the country for '12 months', the plot thickens, and still no testimonials from Labour high heid yins, might there be more to this than has been reported in the Press? 8O

Edited to add "A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said a post-mortem examination would take place, but added: "There are no suspicious circumstances."

No doubt she'll be accused of lying.

Fuck it. I know Danus. I've been out leafletting with him. Saw him a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm depressed. His family have enough to put up with out the record's ghouls hanging about.

It's like his PR team are using a comedy engine to collate his defence at the moment. There's an even better reason why he's buggered off at the moment and it's got nothing to do with his possible fondness for all things Antipodean, but the least said about that the better. Definitely not for public dissemination I fear.

On another note .. <<clicky>> .. inside information is all, people - inside information is all.

Out of the online newspaper editions The Herald provides the best coverage.

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/purcell-the-end-of-the-line-1.1011630

Over in The NOTW Sandra White MSP combines with The Taxpaers Alliance to ask who paid for Jack Irvine and the legl advice. You cna search for that yourselves

Good Herald article. Shows how deluded Purcell really is. There should be no way back for him now he's scuttled away with his tail between his legs.

And left Glasgow with a legacy of debt through the Commonwealth Games.

BTW, to atone for his sins, maybe he should be made to fill in all the potholes in Glasgow's streets

I understand there is a meeting of most Glasgow Labour cooncillors taking place in Falkirk prior to the big match.

Which is the best newspaper story on this sad affair? The "east coast" press ie Scotland on Sunday I think has a well written piece. Labour must have a damage limitation excercise. Really sad because he did do a lot for Glasgow. Saw a women on a TV interview who probably never voted in his life saying "He didnae do nothing". What happens in 2014, Schools/Education etc. all mostly his legacy.
