Hope to be in uk next year.Where couldd I buy a 00 gauge set? Any 2nd hand shops for this sort of thing?
What about rc aircraft kits, readily available in Glasgow?
Regards,
Davie.

Heard today that 334s and 320s may be getting run through central high level on circles etc.

Thatll be fun as the passengers will have to press the buttons to open the doors, can imagine everyone on the platform at queens park complaining the train came in stopped and the driver never opened the doors ::):

On a plus side the PID sysytem may get the routes added

Pastimes, 126 Maryhill Road, G20 7QS is the main 2nd hand dealer in railway models in Glasgow, or else if you want to go a bit further I would recommend the Falkirk swapmeet at Graeme High School, Callendar Road between 1pm to 4pm on the first Sunday of each month.

We get 334s occasionally, but they're not really suited to the route. They take ages to accelerate and there are too few seats. The doors are a fair bit tighter than the usual trains (318s?) on the route also, which is a problem with entry and exit at peak times.

I assume 320s are the trains usually used between Airdrie and Helensburgh/Balloch? As I was brought up in Coatbridge, I've used these a fair bit, and reckon they'd be well suited to the Circle/Newton/Neilston routes. Hopefully the extra units could be used to allow more 6 car services at peak times too.

TBH 334s i reckon are pretty crap for the newton/neilston/circles, the 320s will be better, only problem i know of is the same reason they dont go thru central LL, is the ventilation 'window' makes it hard to line up to the cameras.

the 334's wont accellerate on anything apart from a dry rail, all they do is wheelspin. realistically scotrail should keep a small fleet of 314's for cathcart and neilston, spend some money on them ffs they have had sod all apart from essentials

Some have been up at springburn for work done on them, i think theyre still basic as they were supposed to be getting ditched when the a2b and 380s arrive, but if they keep them on then theyll need PID put in.

'Scuse ignorance, what's a TE?

I went to Larbert today and about three miles before we got there we ran into fog. The train slowed right down and when we got there there were a couple of railway lads grumbling about fog and couldn't see the signals. I've never been in a train through fog before. What's the drill? Do you really have to slow right down? Can't you do like 'planes and fly on instruments?

Possibly could, Brigit !

But unfortunately, when driving a train, you can't turn to the side to avoid something that looms out of the fog in front of you.
