If you follow the track in a northerly direction (in the picture, actual north) it was where the trees are next to the high rise flats.
Incidentally, my office faces those flats in the red sandstone tenements at the crossroads of London Road and Springfield Road!
A better view is the last picture, where the station would have been where the "inverted letter S" is to the left of the high rise flats (no trees!!)

Feel free to add a bit of photoshoppery to the image Vinny as to the actual location of the station.

Funny, the high flats at Ruby Streey were built by the railway as well, must be because they were designed to be by main roads which in turn were served by main railways.
Those pictures show the real extent of demolition in Glasgow, notice the tenements have remained while the 50's style tenements have been destroyed.

Aye, I'd seen that one Crusty. The picture shown is not quite where I'm looking for though. The train line (which is obvious!) at the right hand side of the picture is at the other end of Celtic Park, i.e. to the west, and over London Road.
The station I'm after is to the east of Celtic Park. The line ran under London Road, and came out just to the south east of Celtic Park, with the station on the east side of Springfield Road.
Hadn't thought of SCRAN though ... need to see if I can get a password!!

In the bottom picture it looks as though the cutting where the station was has been totally filled in and that an access road has been created in the section of cutting between Springfield road and London Road, sloping down towards the London Road tunnel Portal.

Spot on Alycidon. The access point is a bit overgrown and there's a fair sized fence pretty much where your arrow points, perhaps a bit more towards Springfield Road - i.e. towards the station site - but not much more.

All for it, but I think that they should complete what they have already proposed (eg Crossrail) before taking on any more projects. As I have already mentioned, reopening of this branch was already proposed when the Whifflet line was reopened and didn't happen.

Interesting. But, where would this line end? At a new Parkhead station? Or
would it continue eastwards?

It would be far better to complete the loop through Tollcross to Carmyle and re-route theWhifflet service this way - after all a large proportion of the Celtic support come from Coatbridge

I think your generalising a bit there - supporters of both the Old Firm teams come from both near and far

No, I think it's possibly an old bog. If you look on the picture that Alycidon's posted, he's got the station at an accurate location. In your piccy you can see Celtic Park just behind, taken from London Road. It's certainly at the end of the tunnel that disappears under London Road, but not part of the station.
