Price increases. Anybody surprised?

Even the higher price, though, is a drop in the ocean of what could be spent on improving the subway and other public transport interconnections.

Track walk for subway passengers

Passengers were forced to walk between stations on the Glasgow subway after a fault on one of the trains closed the outer circle.
Thirty eight people had to walk on train tracks through the tunnel at Hillhead at about 0930 BST on Monday.
It is understood there was a problem in the connection between the carriages and the electric rail.
A spokesman for Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) said efforts to repair the fault were ongoing.

That's twice in 2 months.

Walking through the tunnel! Sounds like great fun, I want to be on one of those trains.

That's good to see! I really appreciate that glass wall at Buchanan Street; glad it's being rolled out to other stations.

Maybe so, but the live rail is just below the edge of the platform. I'm amazed this hasn't been done before, especially considering how busy Ibrox Subway Station gets on match days.

Likewise, I wonder why the barrier doesn't go all the way down the platform as it does at Queen Street. Seems to defeat the whole purpose. Maybe it's not finished yet. Or perhaps they've run out of money :?

Ehh, it's not finished yet. They put the Buchanan Street one together slowly also; started at one end and worked their way up. They do it at night, presumably because it's difficult to do while trains are running past!

What would you suggest as a replacement? I actually like the barriers; it's the rest of the decor I don't have any time for. ::):

and when I go on subway I love the fact I can look down the tunnel something
quite scary about it, I am just stuck in the past.
