I'm just looking at the OM1 through rose tinted filters I suppose. That was the only Olympus model I ever saw close up apart fromm the OM2. Happy days. I moved on to the Canon EOS 500 after that. I missed the OM1 though - and what made it worse was that it was my wedding pics that he was meant to be taking. :(

I have an old Praktika MTL3 which has a "needle thingy" for setting exposure. It was FAB! You knew just what the exposure was going to be (cause you had maually set it) and the needle, you could gauge just how under/over/perfect exposed the picture would be. That was my introdution to SLR photography. Followed by a Canon EOS 500N which I left on a train in Portugal in 2004..............Doh!

Wish i could afford a new camera.

At the moment i've got an ancient digital one thats literally about 2 Megapixels....whats worrying is that my phone is now of a higher quality.

Still takes alright photies though - dont know enough about photography to worry at the moment, although i intend to. Very soon. :(

Sony Mavica FD200

Bought because I wanted something that'd store onto floppies (don't ask). I'd had it over a year before I discovered the memory stick slot

Mamiya RB 67 ( yes I'm a wannabe weight lifter ) with a 6x7 & 6x4.5 film backs and 127mm lens , a couple of Vivitar digital cameras together with an Olympus XA compact for those 'film' moments. This is not counting those cameras that I have found stuck to my fingers on leaving junk/secondhand/fleamarkets and are staring at me from my bookshelves as I type this.

Currently use three Fuji digitals: S5000, S5600 and S9600. Also have a Canon EOS 500 (decomissioned since a car ran over its battery). Used to use an Olympus OM1 (my favourite out the lot), a ZENIT EF which must've been designed around the T50 main battle tank; and a completely wonderful little Bierette KF with the most hypnotically blue lens which I got for a snip out of Exchange & Mart in 1971 only to find that the 'RapidCassette' 35mm spools were very hard to come by. I also have a Kodak Box Brownie somewhere.

Thinking very seriously about going back to 35mm slides. I don't like the way digital (or my lack of ability with it maybe) fails to capture transparency the way I want - for example, light coming through leaves. To me it makes transparency look opaque if that makes sense.

I have had a Zenit as well, a bit on the heavy side and not something you want to be carrying if you are near deep water. I use the 6x7 back on the RB to do slides. It CAN run a bit pricey but I do a little bit of freelancing work for photolibraries when real life will let me so that brings in enough for a few rolls of film and processing a year, that said I sold naff all last year ( mental report, card MUST do better in 2007 ). I also forgot to list the FED rangefinder I have, again a bit heavy but can be a usefull anti-ned device if you swing it around on the end of it's strap.
