I use a Tamron 70/300 lense on my Nikon and you can switch it from Zoom to Macro, I've never had any problems with it.

I've used that lens too - no major concerns I can recall.

I've got a TZ10, which is a compact camera from a couple of years ago. Virtually every photo I've ever posted on here (and most I post anywhere else too!) has been taken with it, and I find it to be perfectly acceptable for most applications. I believe the bridge cameras similar to this have even more manual control, which would help sometimes in certain circumstances I reckon.

Myself, I am damn near paralysed by indecision regarding what to do camera-wise. I don't want to jinx things, but my DSLR isn't getting any younger - I'm not that bothered about it being surpassed in some ways, as it's still as damn good a wee camera as it ever was, but they don't live forever...

It's not quite clear where the money's actually going to come from Yet, I'm lining up my options beforehand (and perhaps trying an experiment in wish fulfillment). Basically, do I stick with Pentax (as my current one has served me very well), or sell various body parts in hope of being able to afford a 5D Mark III once the price comes down a bit more? The added complication is that I am frankly quite desperate to get my grubby mitts on a Fuji X100s, as I spend a lot of time with a fixed focal length lens anyway, and that camera is just beguiling.

This is all kind of academic right now, mind you...

camera arrived on friday but ive only just had the chance to have play with it.
looks and feels like a nice wee camera, still getting used to it though but id say its well worth the money
