Looking for some info on Tablets....

What im wondering is, i have a Canon EOS 400d, can i link this to a tablet via a data cable/mini usb adaptor to take pictures of my camera. I dont really want to take a laptop on holiday with me, so was thinking an Archos 10.1 as an alternative to store my pictures temporarily until i get home

I do this .. but in a very roundabout fashion.

My Android devices all accept On-The-Go usb drives (some additional apps may be needed with some devices, but they're all free from the android market. {rooting the device may also be required. My Samsung Phone accepts the OTG straight off the cuff. My Nexus 7 needed rooted and a free app installed} )

Bearing in mind I don't have a standard CF memory card in my 400D, I have an adapter that allows me to plug a micro-SD card into it, and then the adapter into the camera, it opens up my options for data transfer to devices that don't have a CF reader slot. I've had trouble making my laptop see my camera at all via the data cable - tried three cables, all nada - hence the resort to micro-sd adapters etc.

You can get an OTG adapter lead to accept a normal usb drive for a couple of quid - and a usb/micro sd adapter for another couple.

Plug your camera card into the usb/micro sd adapter, the usb/micro sd adapter into the OTG adapter, and the otg adapter into your droid and any file manager such as ESFile Explorer will see the drive as new external storage.
