Well that was that then. A 2 hour wait and it was all over in a few seconds. Decided to watch it from the old bowling greens in Auldhouse Park as the wind was blowing towards Morrisons and what a good decision that was.

I'm sure I saw Reenie with the tripod all set up and a face mask on. It got a few people worried about the dust clowd and sure enough it slowly crept over after the blowdown. I didn't realise that OAPs could run that fast! I'm glad I wasn't standing on Riverford Bridge as the dust looked bad there.

And that was that, had time to shed a wee tear having lived 14 up in Riverbank St for a while. Glad to see the back of the monstrosities though. :D :D :D

I had completely forgotten about this today until I thought I heard thunder on what appeared to be a pleasant day. This was still very loud in Langside so I can hardly imagine how loud it would have been at ground zero.

Does anyone have any video of this?

It's on the Evening Times website along with some footage of the cleanup:

Acme Quarry Supplies for a rather large dustpan and brush. :D

That was me! I had the crash hat and goggles on for a time, too.

I'm trying to extract some video footage from a large (hour-long) variable bitrate WMV file. Windows Media Encoder doesn't like it for some reason.

Here's my set here...

Was anyone else up there? I noticed a guy with 2 silver cameras and a guy with what looked like a 400D with a graduated filter on the front.
There were certainly plenty of kids around, worrying me every time they walked in front...

I noticed this guy too, interesting if he tried to open up the lens and capture the fluid motion of the collapse in a oner, I was going to ask him but was too concerned with the kids running about and getting in the way, bless them

Great photos Scott and Reenie (esp the 4th one)
We were going to go up to Reenie's Hillpark viewpoint, but chickened out thinking
that we would miss the whole thing.

I was standing at Lidls, it was fab. The dust cloud got us right away though. I've got lot of 12 Riverford road in my hair.

Thank you everyone for letting me know about the best vantage points and stuff.

I'll definately be at the next one :)

I heard two horns from Auldhouse Park, one with 5 minutes to go then another with about a minute to go. The horns were almost drowned out by the noise of the police helicopter.
