I received this email today from another group I belong to.

Hi Robbo, -- [IMPORTANT: Glasgow Guide boards has received a request from an independent survey requesting that GG members be surveyed about a proposed development to Pollok Park. As it is a very important matter to Glasgow, I have agreed to send out this ONE email to you. Your email address has NOT been given to anyone and remains protected by GG boards Admin. You will receive NO further emails on this matter.] --

As you may know, a private company, Go Ape, is seeking permission from Glasgow City Council to build a treetop adventure trail in Pollok Park on Glasgow's south side. A city-wide opposition group called 'Save Pollok Park' has been created to defend Pollok Park against what they see as an inappropriate commercial encroachment on the historic city park, recently named the best in Britain. Glasgow City Council has intimated their support for the Go Ape development, stating that it is consistent with the public's wish to establish "opportunities for maximising the promotion of the active and healthy lifestyle agenda" in our parks.

The Council also says that "measures will be introduced to safeguard the long term health of the trees", but both the Maxwell family (who gifted the park to the people of Glasgow) and the National Trust for Scotland have failed to support the project and have expressed considerable concerns. Now an independent survey has been set up to gauge public feeling, allowing you to contribute to the survey by going to the following web address: www.pollokpark.org.

Should we expect a response to emails sent? I've emailed a few councillors and had no acknowledgment nor reply. :(

Now email their names to the Evening Times and then they'll blame the vagaries of the council's internet. Can you request a this has been read return on your email?
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

Did that on all emails and haven't had one thing back. Also, I specifically requested an acknowledgement from Sean McCollam when I objected initially and again not a peep. Hardly inspires confidence in them does it?
