Carbuncle Awards 2008

Just been flicking through the website, and its various nominations for Plook on a Plinth (most dismal town), Pock Mark (worst planning decision) and Zit (most disappointing building) awards.
Quite a few nods for Glasgow - particularly developments around the river, although it's Coatbridge who seem to be most upset by their inclusion.
Was just wondering, what do folks on here think about the awards in general, a bunch of snobs laughing at where poor people live, or a genuine effort to embarrass local authorities into doing something about their most neglected areas?
My favourite comment on the website regards the new BBC building:
"A box of delights? Or just a big box of shit?"

And what do folks here think should be up for the gongs?
