Denny citizens demand to be given the Carbuncle award John O'Groats declined.
Residents of a Stirlingshire town are to collect the Carbuncle award for the most dismal place in Scotland - after asking organisers for the trophy.

Denny residents approached the award's organisers after learning no-one wanted to pick up the award on behalf of this year's winners, John O'Groats.

Denny had been named as a runner-up in design magazine Urban Realm's list of the country's most awful towns.

Residents hope the award will speed up regeneration plans for the town.

Time for an HG photoshoot.

Amazingly enough "A Scots new town with 10 times as many roundabouts as it has hotels has unexpectedly been named as one of Europe’s up-and-coming tourist hotspots by the UK branch of TripAdvisor.

East Kilbride came a surprise third in a list of 10 emerging destinations, based on the percentage increase in web traffic over the last year."
