::): Wonder what the new owners would say, had they seen the shambolic traffic jams in and out of the Silverburn Centre since Friday 18th, and subsequently getter substantially worse as the Christmas Period draws ever closer.
Hope this will be taken on board for 2010

Blame it on the wrong type of snow, it was white this year, you know.

::): Yes very white, and mixed with the undeniable aroma of burnt clutch, a real yuletide experience... :)

Re: I've got the last remaining bit of the clock

A mate of mine told me about this site and I was amused by the thread aout the old Pollok Centre Clock. The rumours
are true, it did get scrapped. My mum took us every week to the Centre and we sat on the rotten marble effect benches faithfully just to see the wee doors open or hear the chimes at the very least. They never did, but it kept our attention long enough for the folks to run about and get the mesages and come back to find us fed up watching the clock and stealing all the wee pebbles out the rockery thing! it barely worked after the mid 80's. Anyway, my pal managed to 'salvage' a part of it before the lorries came to empty the skips just after the 'new' Tesco was built. I'd love someone to upload a photo of the clock so I can figure out just where this wee figure was on it. it is a wee black dog, like a poodle with a helmet. Trust me if u saw it you'd know it. i used to think it was metal but it isnt, its made of fibreglass. If you remember the old clock you'd remember this. every time I show it to people and ask if they can remember it they all get annoyed cos they do but cant remember where from! If anyone can direct me to a foto or link to a foto of the clock I'd appreciate it. thanks in advance. PS anyone remember the big grizzly bear that got walked around the Centre, or the people from the program 'it ant half hot mum'?

if you are still interested in this clock I have posted a photo of it on a facebook forum...link to http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Like-t ... 5186467689 if you you would like to pass around anyone else too I don't really mind...cheers John Clarke
