Hollowhorn, I have literally dreamed of finding those gates open one day. I will hotfoot it into town this afternoon on the off chance.

Cheers

Well, they told me that the arch was being retained, as you can see in the above sketch, if they did remove it stone by stone for rebuilding later,
they were bloody quick about it. The vibrations recently have been intense, perhaps it just fell over.

I am sure it will be an improvement on the current site. Heres to a bunch of boutiques beyond my financial ken. Seriously, better that than a KFC or Burger King.

Is Hidden Glasgow still onlin? I have just discovered it and have interest in Glasgow architecture(have you seen Future Glasgow website - for proposed/started buildings).
I worked on Virginia Galleries new build(your photos were of the site). I left after 6 weeks as I fell out with contractor who was very poorly organised and safety poor too. I believe project is way behind as I expected - I pass it sometimes and it was to be nearly finished well before now.
Does anyone have any more news on this project. Also it was adjacent to scottish Build Preservation Trust by coincidence and they were concerned by vibration and demolition

Hi people, I'm in desperate need of pics of Virginia Galleries from the 90's. Would really love to see it in all it's glory, been reading a bit about how important it was to the alternative scene in Glasgow back then.

Not required for this particular operation.

The installation of these piles are silent, including the power pack.
