Only one I've seen is the one which Hollowhorn posted in another thread:

I still miss Virginia Galleries. Tragedy, that was.

God that has taken me back in a wibbly sort of way. I had the unit next to the Skateboard shop, with the very funny crowd who were permanently outside. Happy days. My shop first went under the name Magic Lines and then due to aquiring new funding, Overising.
The legendary Mr Ben's was directly across.

Unfortunately I gave the unit up before any cracks in the walls were deemed dangerous. Think some got compensation. In the time I was there it had went very quiet during the week, but the mixed bag of people at the weekends made up for it.

Thanks to The Duke for pointing this out to me.

why is it in these mock ups they always show people eating, outside, in Glasgow? Rome, Barcelona I can understand it but here it's usually pishing down, windy and the streets are really stinking.

Optimism. Even this morning the cafe in the Mitchell has tables and chairs out on Kent Road.

Some poor photos of the finished article, I see they kept the arches after all:Image

It doesn't look too bad, and I'm glad the arch remains. But good grief, I do miss the old place.

I note that a press release in the very first post in this thread states it will be like Covent Garden - hmmm, not sure that has come true!

I loved Virginia Galleries, I bought my first black leather biker jacket there in 1996, in a shop on the top floor, can't remember what it was called. I can also remember selling shed loads of CDs to the music shop upstairs and getting about a fiver in return!
