New subsection

Postby crusty_bint » Tue Sep 26, 2006 11:13 am

Hi folks, Sharon has graciously set up this new sub section to discuss development in glasgow (much like the Glasgow subsection on the SkyScraperCity forum).

If you can refrain from posting for a couple of days untill we populate it with some threads to get you started it would be much appreciated!

In the meantime, feel free to post in this thread :D
here i go, it's coming for me through the trees

I'd like to see a discussion on the nitty gritty of what's actually happening in Glasgow.

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel impedant whenever I see yet another historic building be demolished for yet more "luxury flats", or even worse, become a waste ground for the next 30 years.
There has to be some official body set up with the teeth & balls to say "NO, that old building has an place in the fabric of the city, find an way to incorporate it into the plan, even if it's just the outer walls".

And where new build is concerned, the same body should have the authority to refuse the sort of awful designs which have been inflicted on us over the past 40 years. The crap that has gone up in the last 5-10 years shows the city has learned nothing.
