By the way Clincher, that pic of General Terminus Quay has a great clarity to it... one of the best oldies Iv seen in a while... where u find?

crusty there is a book for sale on amazon(hope its ok to mention them) called -the forth bridge by sheila mackay. judging by the front cover which is all you can see on the site, its full of photos of the construction of said bridge. i will maybe even invest £12.99 of my beer money on it :wink:

Crusty...my pic of General Terminus Quay was from a book i purchased roon in Tarbet a week or two ago....if it's ok to type the name of it etc, i will, no probs :wink:

Had another lunchtime wander along the Clyde today and found the answer to something that had always puzzled me...

What the hell are those black pillars beside the Kingston Bridge for? (other than using as an impromptu tripod :D )

Turns out they are for mounting theodolite reflectors. There was a team from the Cooncil Land Services surveying, must be checking to see if the bridge is sinking again.

I was actually going along to take pictures of what is left of the Finnieston/Stobcross ferry.
