Passed by the Site today. The are now closing in around the domes on the roof. Still a glacially slow build though.

That's the centre 'golden' dome in place - with a little lid on top.

I have carried out transport assessments and travel plans for several Gurdwaras in West London- one of which was for Afghan Sikhs

These were largely self funded so building work in such cases may have been progressed at the rate funds were built up!

Incidentally, I had contact with the architect for this one at the time as I had no historical data on trip movements only churches which was obviously atypical. He did not have any info either but the local authority may not have asked for such supplementary information

I got the impression also that there was no requirement for either for a 'Transport Assessment or a 'Travel Plan' these are required at least in London to try and reduce car based travel.

I am in two minds about this, I have a background in public transport, but am as wedded to car use as most other people and find such restraints almost impossible to enforce.

Is there not a car park going back under the building?

The original plans included a three storey underground car park, accommodating 257 vehicles.

I would think the car park will be for general use when not used by the temple which would be attended noon Friday through to noon Sunday?
I has been my experience based on my surveys at a west London Gurdwara that the bulk of trips to it will be concentrated over the last half hour Sunday.
