Parade Cinema being demolished

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, the old Parade Cinema in Meadowpark Street Dennistoun has started to be demolished. Only started yesterday I think.

Typical. Gap74 and I are only away down south for a couple of days, and in our absence a cinema is demolished...

We'd noticed the left hand side of the building had collapsed a year or two ago, so figured it was only a matter of time.

Some pics from today - looks like some basic stripping out has begun but not much else so far.

What else could be done. I remember it, just about, as a cinema and it was really smelly and dirty. Then, when it turned into a pub/diner, it was okay to begin with then the ned element took over and it became just another grotty east end pub.

It's a prime site but when you see the other soulless flats being built in the area, you fear for what's planned.
