I'll buy the building BUT..............I can't afford the "In any event Fire Insurance policy".......that is the stumbling block and would guarantee a quick return on the outlay.

buy it, turn it into a pub, burn it down, sell the shell of the building for a profit and claim a hefty insurance policy, retire early and move to the bahamas. simple.

Not a bad idea. A pub over there maybe pretty successful once all those media types move in their new studios over there.

I'll be one of them (redundancies not withstanding) so I'll back this idea to the hilt.

Derelict Clyde Rotunda put up for sale

Postby Mori » Tue May 17, 2005 5:59 pm

http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/hi/news/5038902.html

IT HAS been one of Glasgow's best-known landmarks since the 1800s.

Now, almost 20 years after it closed, the South Rotunda on the banks of the Clyde is being primed for a new lease of life.

The B-listed property is up for sale. And, with it now being surrounded by £150million of regeneration along Pacific Quay, developers reckon there will be no shortage of bidders willing to pay around £750,000 for it.

They could be used as a tunnel again to link the new developments on either side of the Clyde. There are bridges but not so many of them.
