I guess she's never heard the maxim, "If it works, don't fix it". Or in the Council's case "If it works, don't go monkeying around with it".

Will this light way to hidden city treasure?

THIS is the stunning landmark which could take centre stage in the middle of Glasgow's main shopping street.
But the striking glass box, stage and imposing lighting column is not just meant to be eye-catching.
It is intended to lure shoppers to one of the city's most tucked-away attractions - The Lighthouse.
The glass case - it will house promotions for events and exhibitions - and stage will be built on Buchanan Street, opposite Mitchell Lane. Backers have applied for planning permission to erect the column to illuminate the display at night.

I thought that this belonged to the council but seemingly not its owned by the owners of the buildings that suround the square, i think this has been led mostly by the new blythswood hotel that opend up no long ago.

I hope they renew the landscaping too as its a lovely square if used by the public.

That's the concern I expressed on Friday

Speaking of Blythswood Square. I notice railings are being erected around the square :(

I'd rather got used to thinking of it as an open public space.

There's certainly a space on the south side of the square, next to the bus stop, for gates to be fitted.
I hear the people sing.

It was always a private square The previous owners of the Blythswood Hotel (RSAC) used it for wedding Photographs.
