I'll second that. I'll need a faster processor to get it to run smoothly, but fortunately, I've a new tower under construction. (Apologies for the irony...)

I seen a video of the Millarston (?) Demolitions .. all 3 flats, in stark contrast to the Sighthill event, it was dead looking .. perhaps it was because it was at 5AM ish.

I'd have thought any explodaholics out there woulda stayed at Sighthill, then converged on Millartson later on .. then home for breakfast after the "night shift" :D

That was my intention. In the end, having watched such footage as there was, I don't mind missing it. They put the three towers down with indecent haste - they went down simultaneously when it might have been better to drop them one at a time.

The planning and preparation that goes into each demolition must be immense. I wonder how much it all costs and who is involved other than the actual demolition company. I would imagine Scottish Power, Scottish Water and the Electricity Board would have to do work before the flats are brought down.

The lad from Dataserve who replaced my meters recently said they go in and strip all the meters out so they can redeploy them elsewhere. It takes six months to prepare an implosion and anything that can be recycled will be stripped out. I wonder how much copper piping there is in the plumbing of one of these places? The Police are involved, then there are such as the bus companies who will need to reroute their vehicles on account of closed roads. A complicated job, for sure.
