Original psychedelic electronic music pioneers SILVER APPLES

Silver Apples play STEREO in Renfield Lane on the 6th of September ! YES. Silver Apples released two highly original and groundbreaking albums in 1968/69. Fortunately for us founder member Simeon Coxe(who must be in his 60's) is still recording and touring. If you have any interest in Electronic music you have to be there. If you are curious why not put their name into the Youtube search engine and be astounded. Unfortunately no footage seems to exist from the 60's but someone has montage'd a short film for their track "Oscillations". Both track and video are superb. This will be a night not to miss ! :D

Renfield Lane

We are excited to host an extremely rare Glasgow appearance from the mighty Silver Apples.

Silver Apples were a psychedelic electronic music duo from New York City in the late 1960's. Using a 1940's oscillator the two band members - the impressively named Simeon Coxe III and Danny Taylor, crafted an orchestra of pedals and keys to create music that was less ahead of it's time - more beamed from another universe. Forty years after the release of their debut album the group still sound pretty much unlike anything else out there.

They have been cited as hugely influential on some of H&P's favourite all time artists from Kraftwerk to Suicide - even to present day artists such as Portishead and James Pants.

Following the unfortunate death of Danny the drummer, Simeon will visit Glasgow alone with his legendary oscillators. Needless to say, this is set to be a once in a lifetime opportunity - snooze you lose.

Support comes from David Barbarossa, a man with a record collection as rare and as mighty as his turbo-beard - whose selection should set the scene perfectly for this unique performance.

Ticket holders will be entitled to free entry at an aftershow party across in Ad Lib from 11pm with H&P, David Barbarossa and some special German guests playing 'til 3am.
