They have one in Kilmarnock, sandwiched between the taxi rank and the homeless hostel, just over from the poundshop. Not the new poundshop or the big poundshop - the other poundshop.

Hi, anyone know of any other Christmas markets / fayres apart from ones already posted? We are a new business looking for a stall to sell our wares!

So many things for sale for a pound in Kilmarnock .. folk could live a good life without ever having to open their wallet.

It looks like you could easily support a family of four on the change in your pocket.

Glasgow’s West End gets new outdoor market

From the freshest greens to handmade jewellery and textiles, Glasgow’s newest outdoor market at Mansfield Park has something for everyone.

Partick Retail Market will be operating every Tuesday at Mansfield Park in the west end of the city.


A total of 20 vendors will operate at the new market selling quality Scottish produce, arts and crafts, home-baking and other goods.
Glasgow currently has six markets across the city run by City Markets (Glasgow) LLP. The city’s markets are hugely popular with Glaswegians and visitors alike not just as a place to buy fresh food and goods but as a place to socialise and meet up with friends.
At the retail and farmers’ markets shoppers can purchase a wide range of goods including fruit, vegetables, meat and fish at inexpensive prices at convenient locations within their local communities.
Councillor Shaukat Butt, chair of City Markets (Glasgow) LLP, said: “Glasgow is a great place for markets. Glaswegians relish the opportunity to buy fresh produce and goods in their local community. They really care about what they are buying and being able to speak to the people who actually produce or make them.
“Our markets are also a great place for people to catch up with friends and neighbours and get advice from stall owners on how to cook or use the goods for sale. The idea of doing this retail market in Partick came about as a response to local people who wished to have regular weekly access to quality fresh produce and goods.
“We hope that this new weekly retail market at Mansfield Park will prove as popular and successful as the Farmers’ Market which is held at the same location on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.”
Mansfield Park is on the corner of Dumbarton Road and Hyndland Street, Partick. The Partick Retail Market will operate every Tuesday from 11am to 4pm.
City Markets (Glasgow) LLP is responsible for a range of markets selling directly to the Public and these Markets have proved very successful and popular.

He probably doesn't even get a nice shiny uniform to wear.

Best one in my humble opinion is the market at Hamilton top cross, on Quarry St, most Saturday mornings. Farmers from Clyde Valley, Carluke, Lezmahagow and Lanark serving up game and home made delights at about a tenth of the cost. I'm not a raving Nationalist, but you at least get the homegrown Scottish farmers' feel from it.
