Friends launch (free tea and whisky)

Postby Ronnie » Sun Jun 19, 2005 9:25 pm

The Friends of Glasgow Necropolis (which involves Sharon, Crusty and me, among others) will be launched in the Merchants' House of Glasgow on Wednesday 22 June at 6.30. There will be tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits, as well as some rather nice single malt whisky, all free.

Many HGers have been on my tours of the Necropolis, or at the book launches, and this is your chance to take part in the campaign to get the place back to being safe, tidy and well-used by locals and tourists.

Hope to see you there (I'll be the one in the suit!).

Hi Ronnie - hope all went well.

You book is now officially overseas as I have 5 copies with me in Moncton. One copy is going to a good History-maniac friend of mine in Montreal, one is going to Halifax to a person who took your tour last summer with my choir group, one to a fan of cemetaries in Vancouver on the west coast, one is going to my mum and one is MINE!

So you are now officially all across Canada!

:)

Thanks, Maze. Good to hear that the fame of the Necropolis is spreading across the icy wastes of the New World :)
