White lights in the sky over Glasgow tonight 15th Sept 2009

Did anyone see else see them, they resembled spotlights but weren't, they danced all around the sky, it was very spectacular. There were about 10 or 11 of them, some switched off and would switch back on reappearing at another part of the sky, others seemed to sweep the sky, does anyone know if there was a light display going on in the Glasgow area? This happened about 9.30 pm tonight.

Ha ha, the police just recently left, they asked me if I was on any medication or if I smoked cannabis, of course I told them no, I don't take drugs at all except Paracetemol on occasion. This was truly spectacular, they looked like the Aurora Borealis except they were all white and seemed under some type of control. The police officers told me the RAF bases in Scotland had been contacted and they had reported nothing unusual on their radars, I never asked them about the RAF, they offered me the info, it is great the police are starting to take these kinds of reports seriously, despite the question about drugs but of course they have to ask that question given the circumstances.

It was real, it wasn't in my imagination, the police also said there were no light display events in Glasgow tonight which has me stumped for an explanation.

Please to God tell me you did not call the Police for this. If so i hope they charge you for wasting Police time and make you pay for the waste of time - £500/hour might do

Well, they took me seriously, if there are lights in the sky that are unexplained then they should be reported to the authorities, they didn't mock me.

Take a look at this:

According to your logic the police should also be fining themselves and not just me.

It was only a few hours ago that it happened, there still is time for others to report it, also I don't know about you but not all people in Glasgow are what you'd call observant, it was no hallucination, it was real.

NO, these weren't fireworks, they were circular lights moving around the sky, fireworks resemble shooting stars and explode in the sky, these were just round lights like spotlights but they were big and there was no beam/trail to show they were coming from the ground.

Hi there, i also seen these lights, i was driving to work at 2130-2140hrs last night 15/9/09, another two of my work colleagues observed them too, i observed them in the southside of glasgow heading in from the paisley area. My other colleagues seen them whilst driving up towards glasgow on the M77. As you say, there were no trails or beams and appeared to be atleast 7-10 going back and forth/chasing each other, sideways (horizontal) not going up or down.....it was the first thing we asked each other when we got to work if anyone else had seen them! We did get strange looks off the rest of the work though...:), but definately didnt imagine them, stumped to what they could have been... and defo not fireworks either.
