Changing the subject and am I the only person who wonders why Manuka honey is about treble the price of
what I would call the more everyday type stuff?

Have heard that it is supposed to have more medicinal qualities about it but is there more to it than that?

I hate to be cynical Dot, but it's that price because they can get it. I think British people are prepared to over pay for stuff.

Manuka Honey has had a load of claims made for its miracle properties which do not stand up to close independent scrutiny like so many other so called health foods. But if you do burn your leg remember to send out for it

Am I the only pedestrian on Dumbarton Road who hates every other pedestrian or Dumbarton Road?? When I'm returning from Byres Road to Partick, I've started taking the quiet route along Highburgh Road and down Clarence Drive, just to get away from junkies, nutters, sleepwalkers, mad grannies, and fuckwits who cannot look where they are going because they are too distracted by things in windows!!!

Grrrr. How hard can it be to POINT YOUR EYES IN THE DIRECTION OF MOTION!!

Aaaaaannnd - relax....

onyirtodd,

I was looking at the honey when I was in Tesco but would be interested to see what Asda and Sainsburys
charge or even one of those health food shops.

I saw two jars of New Zealand Manuka honey and they were both 340g in weight.
One was priced at £12.99 and the cheaper one was £9.49.

If you just want a more ordinary type of honey for your toast you can get ones for £2.00 or less and the cheapest one was in their value range at 68p. Don't expect you would get anything too wonderful at that price.

Very true Mr St.Clair.I watched the price of Manuka Honey go from £4.99 a jar to £10.99 over the course of a month after the alleged health benefits were made widely known. The sales, across the UK, rose 480% over the course of that month on a like for like basis.

Maybe hazy can answer this one.

Am I the only one who wonders whether more people went to see the Celtic and Arsenal match or the U2 concert?
Or was it the same sort of numbers for both events?
One of my relations is a big Arsenal fan but said he couldn't get tickets.

First heard about this on the radio but have now read about it in papers.

I know it will be Christmas soon and season of goodwill and all that but this story did make me wonder.
Are shops really allowed to sell the same items in different branches of the same store at such marked differences?
A toothbrush costing costing nearly £98.00 in Oxford Street, London would cost you just over £156.00 in Glasgow.
Stores in the article included Boots, John Lewis, WHSmith and M&S.
