Why not just buy a chicken and raise it. Then in a year or so you can break it's neck, pluck and gut it. Great fun, good for educating kids too.

What is your home no fit for habitation? Granted you'd want to close the doors on your bedrooms and you might want a throw for your couches but there is no harm in it. Look at chicken farms, you'd be a chicken messiah

Couldn't bring myself to kill something like a chicken or whatever if you had previously had it running around your yard. It would feel like killing a pet and certainly wouldn't be able to eat it afterwards.

Remember fishing once in Scotland (can't remember where) and catching them was one thing but taking it off the hook while it was slithering about not a hope.

Yes I do eat chicken but if I had got to know one like a pet then that would not be an option.

Probably why I gave biology up at school as I hated the thought of taking things apart.
Anyway chemistry was more fun with the test tubes and so on.
Actually gave up all sciences including physics in third year or so.

Will kill flies or wasps if I need to but that's about it.

Seriously I'd go shooting if there wasn't laws preventing me from doing so. Even trapping is forbidden as is lamping so the only choice is the supermarket and god only know where their produce came from. Veitnam, Uzbekistan etc etc I would prefer a nice Scottish raised chicken, that I'd kill and eat after it gave me plenty eggs

what's preventing you going shooting? I thought you just needed somewhere to do so. Like a farm, which i thought you had?

EDIT: Plus a lot of the land has pathways under the outdoor access code so it might prove somewhat troublesome should I go-a-hunting
