The car adverts for Nissan Qashqai and Nissan Juke where paint seems to explode everywhere.

The other car advert is one with Dougray Scott advertising Mercedes.

There's an ad on the telly that's flogging a gadget that dispenses soap. I think it's one of these things that you wave your hand under it and the soap comes out automatically. The selling point is that you don't pick up germs from the top of one of those things that you press. Now I may be missing something, but if you've just picked up a few bugs that you're about to wash off, does it matter?

That thought occurred to me as well when I saw that advert.

Yeah.

Thanks to advertising houses we are becoming a generation of Howard Hugheses (Dexter or somebody - where does the apostrophe go? Or does it at all? I have been drinking).

Wonderful, isn't it? SOAP IS DIRTY.

It's right up there with the evil genius who decided to bottle water - WATER! - and sell it at a quid a pop.

The ad that always made me want to hurl a tin of beans through the TV was Volvic. Filtered through, blah blah, naturally pure, blah blah .. unleash the volcano in you!!

It's water, FFS.

I've not been drinking and I see no need for an apostrophe. By answering this do I get to be a somebody? :)

You're right Bridge. I am now sober and there is no need for an apostrophe.

You know how drink is supposed to make you bold and supremely confident in your deshishions? Well, it's the other way with me.

A bottle of red and hey presto - instant Hamlet.

That's why I gave up. It's a bad deal when you start seeing gaps where apostrophes shouldn't be. :(

That advert with the girl with "pontoon" eyes telling her chums how terrible it is to have rock solid poo's, really gets to me!
There must be lots of people with this "problem" and lots of money to be made selling them a solution 'cause the advert's on the box all of the time.
Incidentally, if you've got this problem can I suggest you try a beer and curry diet 'cause this seems to have made me immune!

The other one that severly gets on my nerves is the smug collection of self-congratulating members of the RBS explaining how clever and all round spiffingly good they are because they go around schools teaching the weans how to look after their money.
Bit of advice for the chaps in the RBS marketing Dept. I reckon the vast majority of folks watching this advert are probably thinking the same as me i.e why didn't you give the same instructive lessons to the senior management in RBS - seems to me that they were the ones that needed it more than the schoolweans??
